The Tonight Show has aired on NBC since 27 September 1954, making it one of the longest-running late-night talk programs on American television. It is built around a rotating seat behind the host's desk, and seven comedians have taken that seat over the decades, from Steve Allen at the start to Jimmy Fallon today. The series is filed under reality.
