Meet the Press first reached viewers on NBC on 6 November 1947, and it still airs every week. No other series on American television has been around longer. Each Sunday, a moderator sits down with senior political figures and questions them about government, money matters and world affairs. Martha Rountree hosted first, and ten people have followed her.
