The Daily Show is a comedy series that has aired on Comedy Central since 22 July 1996. It plays out like a news broadcast, with a team of self-styled fake reporters picking through the week's top headlines, political fights and celebrity chatter. The format is a joke on the genuine thing, and the genres are listed as comedy and reality.
