Crime drama Tatort has been on German-language television since 29 November 1970, with Das Erste as its home channel. Each episode takes place in a different region of Germany, Austria or Switzerland, so the setting changes from case to case. Public broadcasters in all three countries carry it, which makes it a shared weekly habit across the region.
